Peak View Park Brings Nature-Inspired, Inclusive Play to The Peak

Peak View Park, located at The Peak Sports & Entertainment Complex, is the new go-to spot for families, children, and community members looking for a fresh play experience in Tooele County. Designed as part of The Peak Master Plan, this playground blends creativity, accessibility, and community-focused design to support outdoor recreation for everyone.

Tooele County Parks & Recreation is proud to offer this space as a reflection of its commitment to inclusive recreation, imaginative spaces, and long-term community wellness. Peak View Park represents what it means to be “Ready to Play!”

A Fishing Pond-Themed Adventure

What sets Peak View Park apart is its fishing pond theme, brought to life through every detail of the playground design. A winding poured-in-place rubber surface, crafted to resemble a flowing river, guides visitors through different play areas and leads to the centerpiece: a towering dock-inspired play structure that reaches nearly 20 feet tall, the highest of its kind in the county.

Every play feature reflects things you’d find near a fishing pond—from structures that mimic natural surroundings to water-themed design elements—inviting children to explore their imagination as they move through the park.

Inclusive Features for Every Ability

One of Peak View Park’s key goals is to support inclusive play for children of all abilities. The playground’s poured-in-place surfacing isn’t just visually appealing—it’s functional, smooth, and designed for accessible movement throughout the space.

The park features companionship swings, specially made for two users—like a caregiver and a child—to swing together. These swings are set at specific angles to promote cognitive engagement, social interaction, and emotional connection during play. The setup fosters interaction among individuals of various ages and abilities, creating shared experiences and stronger bonds.

Comfort, Shade, and Long-Term Design

Understanding the importance of comfort and usability, the park includes:

  • A central 40-foot-diameter planter with seat walls that double as gathering spots.
  • One large pavilion and three smaller pavilions, offering shaded areas for families and groups.
  • An expanded tree planting strategy, providing natural shade as the landscape matures—essential in a location where high winds make overhead playground canopies less feasible.

These additions make the park an inviting space for children, parents, caregivers, and anyone seeking a place to connect with others or enjoy the outdoors.

Recognized for Best Practices in Play

Peak View Park has been designated as a Project of Excellence for meeting national standards in two key areas:

  • Youth fitness, by promoting physical activities such as climbing, balancing, swinging, sliding, and spinning.
  • Inclusive recreation, ensuring the space welcomes users of all backgrounds and abilities.

This recognition reflects the park’s thoughtful design and role in supporting community health, wellness, and play.

A Key Feature of The Peak Master Plan

As part of the larger Peak Master Plan, Peak View Park is more than a standalone playground—it’s a critical piece of the growing network of amenities at The Peak Sports & Entertainment Complex. The park supports broader goals of expanding year-round recreation, enhancing community access to active spaces, and reinforcing Tooele County’s vision for smart growth and high-quality public facilities.

Peak View Park offers a meaningful, accessible, and engaging environment for everyone. Whether swinging with your child, enjoying a shaded picnic, or watching kids race across the river-themed surface, this new space was built with the entire community in mind.

Tooele County Parks & Recreation is always Ready to Play — and now, so is Peak View Park.
